o What makes this AI chat bot (grief bot) so unique from the old grieving methods: pictures, videos, talking to a gravestone? People are grieving the same but just with different methods. Expectations in grieving -> self-created convo vs. convo with messaging
o Chatbots may actually “normalize conversations about death and the intensity of sorrow,” so people who are grieving won’t be afraid to go through that process àHowever, if people approach the topic of death with this process, everybody will slowly become nonchalant about the death of a friend or loved one. Shouldn’t the death of a loved one be special or be unique to one rather than subjected to the actions of a daily lifestyle?

o Untraditional grieving: Facebook memorials -> Dying Young Woman = the boyfriend using Facebook to create a memorial page. Griefbot That Could Change How We Mourn = Grieving made easier. àOld grieving methods lets your mind wonder, such as recreating old memories in your mind by looking at old pictures, videos, etc. People imagine the other person, sort of estimating how they will respond to them; however, with chatbots, they are programmed with various sources so that when you talk to them, your hopes and expectations are heightened. One may say that traditional grieving methods allow one to reflect on themselves whereas the newer methods are not assisting them in their reflection; however, not everybody is built the same. Some may prefer the traditional grieving whereas others prefer the newer technology because with the traditional grieving, people are stuck the past but the newer methods are pushing people forward by making them not remain in the past.
